Kin Selection

In this interactive exhibition it was my task to craft detailed images to explain Hamilton's rule of kin selection (seen above). Arguing that certain behaviors of animals which are often seen as altruistic, in fact follow a principle to strengthen their individual "genetic fitness".

Three distinct examples of the animal kingdom illustrate this phenomenon. The feeding pied kingfishers, the family bonding meerkats and the collective bee colony.

This collaborative effort was made possible with my project partners Valentin Brommer and Julian Schütz. Commissioned by the LWL Westphalian Museum of Natural History.

As of 2020 this exhibition has been closed.
